    I can't access my files

I have just begun to have issues accessing any files. When I left click on the start button and select any of the commands to the right, ie Doc, music, pictures, computer, control panel etc., I get the error message: Explorer.EXE "Windows cannot access the specified, device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them." I cannot access anything in the computer. I did recently remove the password requirement for start up. I went into Setup(F2) and re-established a supervisor and user password, but that has done nothing for the issue I'm experiencing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm guessing that the Setup(F2) reference is to the BIOS setup - if so, then you're right, that shouldn't affect permissions in Windows.

If you can't access anything on the computer, I'm not sure anything I suggest will help other than a re-install.
There are a few tutorials that will help make this easy and successful.
Since you have a Dell machine, I'd use the first one bellow, it has specific instructions for different vendors. The second tutorial is more generic. Both work well though.
