Computer Slowdown and Slow Responsiveness At Random Intervals
Not as simple as the title makes it seem. I've been struggling with this problem for months.
The way this works is, when playing a game, every three to six minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less, I'll experience visual slowdown for roughly 15-30 seconds. Sound remains fine, but the responsiveness of my mouse and the game itself drops frames until its crawling at 10-15 FPS, then it'll shoot back up to 60 like nothing happened.
During this time, I'll notice the application in question starts using more CPU. Roughly 20% more CPU than it normally uses. Around the time it stops with the slowdown, the CPU usage of the app drops down to normal.
My core temperatures seem to be normal, and my video card seems to be fine. So what is it?
It doesn't seem to matter what I'm playing. Sometimes, it won't lag at all. Most of the time, it does. Singleplayer, multiplayer, doesn't matter. Tried this with 30+ games.
This being said, SOME games never lag at all. And I couldn't possibly begin to tell you why. Please help.
