Bad Pc loading times, probably a cause of my SSD.

I got a lot of help from Arc on this thread BSOD on startup. Pc used to run fine, now its slow after the BSOD. (Thanks arc :) ) and he told me to go to another section of the forum for my other problems. Basically, things like steam, CSGO, google chrome, and even just booting up my pc are considerably slower. Anyone have any ideas of the cause? Here are my specs Intel Core i5-3570K, MSI Radeon R9 290, Corsair C70 Military Green (Green) - System Build - PCPartPicker If you cant figure out the cause from your pc due to me needing to use a software on my pc, or other things, please tell me how to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks :)

I used to have a similar set up. Same motherboard but with a 3770K and a SSD. The Asrock board was the fastest I ever had. I could do a full restart in 14 seconds from desktop to desktop.

It sounds like an issue with the SSD. Quite possibly the port it's connected to. What port do you have it connected to? And I assume you installed all the motherboard drivers for this port?

What do you mean by port? This was my first build and I dont know all the terminology.

The port is the place where you connected the Sata cable to the mobo. There should be Sata II ports and Sata III ports. For a SSD you should connect to a Sata III port. But that would probably not make a major difference.

Another problem could be that your SSD is not aligned. Please check that: SSD Alignment

I should have told you this earlier, but this is a fairly new problem. My pc is almost a year old now and this problem only popped up a week ago. Judging by what your saying about the ports and the SSD Alignment page, this problem should have always been there if these were issues.

Hmm, if it is only since a week, I would try to set back to a restore point or image that is older. Maybe an update or a program you installed cause the problem.

In a hurry to fix this, I installed another program to scan for viruses. It found a trojan. Im going to rescan to see if its been gotten rid of.

The trojan is gone but the issue persists. I dont believe I have anything to revert back to. Im thinking that it is either a hdd, ssd, or psu failure

A couple of minutes ago, I started up my pc. It got another one of those white screens. What happened next may be able to tell you what is causing this, but im not sure. A strange sound coming from my pc started, and it was sort of like a really loud fan running. Or for a better example, wind blowing quickly through a tunnel. Then it stopped.

That sounds more and more like a hardware problem. Maybe it is the disk. Do you have any live CD or USB stick from which you could boot - anything Windows or Linux. Just to check whether the rest of the hardware works.
