5 mins to boot, pls help reduce

Hi all!

I am currently running Windows 7 32 bit since many years and over time the boot speed has gone down to about 5 minutes! I ran Soluto and it seems like I cant do much about it as most of the essential programs take their time to start, like avast antivirus which takes around 2 minutes. Is that normal and if not, how do I diagnose what's going wrong and fix it?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome Isaac mate take a look at this it will reduce the boot time and also make the machine quicker in general Optimize Windows 7 now you want to take notice of point 9 Startup Programs - Change I always us the msconfig method and untick everything except the security

Also you can run CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download Now after you have Analyzed go to Options and then cookies look carefully at them and pick the ones you need for passworded sites and send them to the right hand side of that screen. Go back to the Cleaner and run it. This will clear a lot of clutter and save those passworded sites which if you don't save will keep asking you to login.
Now a few other things you can run too

ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(with ADW if you are running Kaspersky it will throw it up as malware just override
