Wondering if I should OC

So I just got a new computer that has an "Over Clock Genie" on the MB. The specs of the computer are as follows:

Intel Cor i5-750 2.66GHz 8M LGA1156 Processor
Patriot 8GB PC3-10666 DDR3 1333MHz 2(2x2GB) Kits
MSI P55-CD53 ATX Motherboard
640GB 7200RPM 3G SATA Hard Drive
VCO GEFORCE 9800GT 512MB PCIE
22X DVDRW SATA Drive
500 Watt Power Supply - Raptor R500
15-1 Card Reader
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

This is a website with a video from a tech show that talks about the system and the OC Genie.

I'm wondering if you guys would recommend using the Over Clock Genie and whether there would be a large notable difference in the performance of the machine if I did.

Good anyone make some suggestions please?

You already have a fast computer. I don't see the point of overclocking a very fast machine.

My personal opinion is that overclocking is only for those who have out-dated rigs that cannot be upgraded.

The difference after overclocking a fast computer is negligible. You can get a couple of milliseconds out of it, but I don't think it's worth the trouble and potential sacrifice in stability and durability.

I agree entirely with Satch.

That is a stud machine you just got. I wouldn't even consider overclocking it for general purposes.

If, on the other hand, you are obsessed with gaming and benchmark performance, then no amount of contrary opinions will convince you otherwise. Overclocking is mostly just self-indulgence by the overclocker--appeasing their compulsion to fiddle and tweak.

Okay thank you guys for your opinions I will take them to heart and leave the machine as is, I'm not a hardcore gamer. I play Guild Wars, Second Life and the Sims3 thats about it. Other than that my computer is basically for work as I work from home and use it for that. Thank you!
