how to clean the drive before restoring

Hello people!
Already I read a ton of pages and comments but in the end I was confused and sure for nothing.
So maybe someone can drive me to the right way.
I want to restore a clone or an image from my hdd, which I did using macrium (free).
I have the rescue usb. I wanted to clean all, zeroed or whatever should be, for to make the hdd ready (like a new one), that it gets the image in the best condition as possible (is 1000gb full of data).
I don't know how to do it.
I don't know neither the enviroment of the rescue. Can I use diskpart- clean all from there?
and if yes is it enough? is it the same like to give zero to all sectors?
I wanted to use ccleaner, but is it possible? Somewhere I read that it's not working in WinPe enviroment even using the portable version.
So the question is . -How is possible to clean well a drive before restoring an image or a clone from macrium.

I don't think you have to clean the destination drive at all before restoring an image to it. Just direct the restoration to the desired partition on the destination drive.

If you still want to do that, a "clean" command in diskpart should do it. Or reformat the drive.

"Clean all" would work, but I'd think it's excessive for what you want to do.

I know is not a must, just I've read that as much more clean is the drive better it is. (for system files etc)
Ofcourse I'm not going to spend weeks about this.
