PC freezes after start up

Hello

My desktop has the following confguration:-

Gigabyte LMT-USB3 MoBo
Crucial MX100 256GB HDD
Seagate - 500GB + 160 GB HDD
Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM
AMD FX 6100 CPU
Cooler Master PSU

After I upgraded to an SSD, my pc performance has improved significantly. However of late, I am noticing that after my pc boots up and reaches the desktop, I cannot open any folders/ applications right away. It seems like the pc freezes up for a while and sometimes I just have to reset the PC to get it back to normal again.

Sometimes even a reset doesn't help. I would click on the chrome icon or the start menu button and it would appear as pressed and stay there forever. Even my Kaspersky Internet Security keeps loading the application but is never fully loaded. Thr entire system just freezes up.

About a week back, I got a BSOD while trying to Shut Down but that has happened only once.

I looked up the event viewer and saw several warnings and alerts under administrative logs.

Please advice on how do I diagnose this issue and fix it.

Update - I looked up the event logs and it shows a bunch of DCOM errors with 1084 and 1068

How do I fix this?

Hello,

I suggest you could try booting into safe mode and trying this way first

Learn how to boot into safe mode here: Safe Mode

Let us know how you get on,

To add to this, I would head to MSCONFIG while in safe mode and deactivate one start up program at a time and re-boot to see if it is the culprit (non MS programs that is).

I had a similar problem with my NVTDRP when I was testing a new beta version, but failed to properly uninstall and upon start up, it tried to load a driver/program which wasn't' there and caused everything to freeze. Unchecked it from he list and presto, realized I needed to reinstall the new beta.

Also, you may want to take a look at Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions and see if your query draws a response. A BSOD may occur once, but not again for a while down the road, so you may have a driver not playing nice with another and it could trigger again in the future. Couldn't hurt to let some of the BSOD gurus scan over the file just to double check

Also make sure DCOM is set to automatic in Services
