Speed Up ShutDown Time

    Speed Up ShutDown Time


    Guys I have a retail copy of W7-64 and I am tring to speed up the shut down time I have changed (wait to kill services) is it anything I acn do to speed up shutdown?

    Well it just laggs at the desktop for about 10sec before iy start it shutdown, When I was running W7-64RC it would shutdown as soon as you hit the key? Maybe it is normal but it seems to take longer then it did before this reinstall.

    Perhaps you could try defragmenting.

    Also check how many programs are running in the background when you shut down Windows. Usually, I dont have more than 3 programs running which includes my antivirus, MSN IM and some little apps.

    Yes AVG is running and about 2 more but it is the same as I was run with RC the oly thing changed is this is a retail copy.

    It was at 12000 and I change it to 2000. It seem to be Ok at that setting. You don't think that is to much do you?

    I've set it to 2000 as well and it does the job for me.
