    Hi all,

    Thanks for all the advice.

In the end I couldn't figure it out and had to take the drastic route of reformatting my laptop to factory settings.

ActiveDelayDeviceService in itself doesn't seem to be the root cause as its running now and I'm back to my 7-10 seconds reboots/shutdowns now.

    Cheers.
    Dodo.

I would say, after you are finished with your other software and tweaking the installation, image your System Reserved (if there is one) and C partitions with Macrium Reflect free. It will save you some trouble later on.

Will do. Just out of curiosity how does Madelyn stack up against paid commercial options?
