Please post whether it resolves it or not please. There have been enough threads about this sleep issue here and all over, be nice to know if it really fixes it.

It didn't work, it still fails to wake up, not quite as often as previously, still too unreliable to use.
    A disappointment.

It is a bug, I have two desktops with completely different configurations and neither one will return from sleep mode. I am surprised MS has not come up with a fix yet.
You mean like this one that was released yesterday,

An update is available to improve the stability and the reliability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
I would say exactly like the one released yesterday, it was installed automatically. I will now start using sleep mode again.
    Thanks for the heads up.
I just restored the computer to a couple of days ago. The update made things worse. Not only did it continue to sleep with no wake up, now it started going to sleep even when I had the sleep option to "never". I will have to wait a fix for the fix.

Hallo Guys, I battled with this for about three weeks and like you i had to hard boot to recover from it in the end it was a Ram related issuue.
I had inserted an extra stick of Ram that had about 100mhz speed difference to the other stick.
My manual said i could do this and it would default to the slower of the two and by all means it worked perfectly fine except for not recovering from sleep mode.
When i inserted two identical sticks the problem was resolved, there are many different reasons sleep mode issues can occur and it is really a process of elimination so i have attached a link to a tutorial.
If you dont find an answer within the tutorial i would encourage you to start reading the posts following the tut. as there are a lot of solutions posted that have worked for others.

Edit: if you choose to use the above Tutorial and are looking to update your drivers you may find this other tutorial a great resource:
