    Windows i7 horribly slow

    Hello,

    This is computer I have with all the specs:Intel Core I7 3820 3 6GHz 1TB 8GB GTX670 2GB Gaming Computer Quad Desktop PC | eBay

    Windows 7 (64bit)

It is horribly slow. Opening, closing, and using apps is terrible. I have Kaspersky and there are no viruses detected.

This is ridiculous and not sure what the problem is. It does not have much on it to run slow and it is relatively up to date, but even if its not, it should still not be running this slow. It takes around 30seconds for things to open.

There is some dust inside the computer, could that affect the it? Im not really tech savvy and have no idea what to do. I just want my computer to run good.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the reply.

Not sure I would want to loose everything, backup etc. What could be causing this?

You should have all your data backed up.

It`s probably just a crappy install.

I would reinstall windows on a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB solid state drive and use the hard drive for data.

What do you see under Resource Monitor? What is CPU, Memory and Disk activity showing?
Look at Task Manager, what programs are running? Is any one consuming a lot of resources?

It runs slow with nothing even running except chrome. It takes almost 15s to load up. Its pretty bad.

Try a clean startup - Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup
Then use another account - User Account - Create

Let us know how it goes

    Thank you.

Ill do that soon. (At work atm)

I've always noticed this computer being slow and not responsive right from the beginning. Only now has it got worse.
