Windows i7 horribly slow

Hello,

This is computer I have with all the specs:Intel Core I7 3820 3 6GHz 1TB 8GB GTX670 2GB Gaming Computer Quad Desktop PC | eBay

Windows 7 (64bit)

It is horribly slow. Opening, closing, and using apps is terrible. I have Kaspersky and there are no viruses detected.

This is ridiculous and not sure what the problem is. It does not have much on it to run slow and it is relatively up to date, but even if its not, it should still not be running this slow. It takes around 30seconds for things to open.

There is some dust inside the computer, could that affect the it? Im not really tech savvy and have no idea what to do. I just want my computer to run good.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply.

Not sure I would want to loose everything, backup etc. What could be causing this?

You should have all your data backed up.

It`s probably just a crappy install.

I would reinstall windows on a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB solid state drive and use the hard drive for data.

What do you see under Resource Monitor? What is CPU, Memory and Disk activity showing?
Look at Task Manager, what programs are running? Is any one consuming a lot of resources?

I've always noticed this computer being slow and not responsive right from the beginning. Only now has it got worse.

Windows 7 Re-install went horribly wrong
Hello! I've got a bit of an issue on my hand. Windows was being re-installed on my laptop from the partition. Unfortunately, the laptop shut off for unknown reasons - it was on charge and had a full battery, flipped open, and uninterrupted but it still shut off. Since then, I've not been able...

Hard drive activities are horribly slow after installing Windows 7
I recently had enough of Windows 8 and installed Windows 7. Since then, however, any hard drive activity (copying files, installing software) has been brutally slow, and it brings my system performance down to a crawl. Disk activity in ResMon doesn't look unusual, so I'm at a total loss to explain...
