There should be a way to go back to Basic without data loss BUT... there are no free space anywhere to work with

Partition Wizard free doesn't work with dynamic disks as far as I know

Ok, Option 1 or 2 of Convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk

Maniac13, you should really get an external drive and backup your data before we continue with this, as it is your work machine

Space is not a problem .. there is a 350 GB folder in the D disk full of crap that I can delete.

I have an external drive somewhere, Ill back uo the important files ...

Can this in any case make the computer not work somehow ? (not loss of data, I mean system error etc), cause I only have this laptop with me now and I need it (I'm abroad)

Hold it for a minute.

How many hard drives are inside this machine?

Not partitions. Hard drives.

1 or 2?

The situation is also complicated by the fact that System Reserved and C appear to be on separate hard drives?

Yes, it is possible it will cripple the system (even though those options listed should not cause an issue).

How does this look then:
- Delete anything that you feel is not important at all
- Get Macrium free and image backup your Hard disk to the external drive, also create the bootable CD from within Macrium. So if anything goes wrong, you can restore back in a short time.
- Use Option 1 of the dynamic to basic disk tutorial I linked earlier (this version of PW free is an older one, we will also use a new version later, don't confuse the two)
- Once the disc is set as basic, post another screenshot of Disk Management please

Ask anything that doesn't make sense, needs further clarification.

Edit: Yes, please answer the question about how many disks there are... I missed that entirely

How can it be a such a small HDD though, maybe a hybrid SSD + HDD ?

Open Device Manager and expand Disk Drives and tell us the exact model of the drives shown.

Is this by any chance a machine with 1 hard drive, but it's a "hybrid" type of drive and might therefore appear as 2 hard drives in Windows Disk Management?

Gokay: do you know if Macrium has any problem with dynamic disks?

If there are literally 2 completely separate hard drives on the machine, I'd try to get C onto disk 0.

A separate 32 GB hard drive, which disk 1 may be, isn't of much use on this installation---just too small for Windows and it can't be enlarged. But do we know it's a separate disk in reality?

I don't really know if it has 2 hard drives .. can be possible,
Because I think a while back I tried to do something like this to add space form the D disk, and I failed, and I don't remember why ..

could be because there are 2 disks ?

I converted only D for now, here is a screenshot .........

Manic:

Do what Gokay asked in post 15 re Device Manager.

Before you make a bad situation worse.
