    Windows 7 won't show updates

    hi there

I recently installed an English version of Windows 7 and since im from Denmark I wanted to have the danish language pack, but whenever i push either "Optional" or "Important" updates it shows nothing in the field even though there are 37 optional and 1 important. Help will of course be appreciated :)

Try below first from build-in "Microsoft Help & Support"

    Windows Update error 80240030

If you receive Windows Update error 80240030 while checking for updates, your proxy or firewall settings might be incorrect. This prevents Windows Update from connecting to the update server.
To correct proxy or firewall settings

    1. Click to open IE
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click Connections, click LAN Settings, and then click the Advanced button. If the Advanced button isn't enabled, skip the next two steps.
    4. Delete any entries in the Exceptions section, and then click OK.
    5. Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box, and then click OK again.
    6. Close Internet Explorer.
    7. Click the Start button .
    8. In the search box, type command prompt.
    9. In the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    10. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing Enter after each one.
      netsh winhttp reset proxy
      net stop wuauserv
      net start wuauserv
    11. Run Windows Update again.

If the these steps don't correct the problem, follow the steps in the next procedure.
To Automatically detect proxy settings in Internet Explorer

    1. Click to open IE
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click Connections, and then click LAN Settings.
    3. Select the Automatically detect settings check box, click OK, and then click OK again.
    4. Close Internet Explorer.
    5. Run Windows Update again.
