Computer slow 100% CPU usage after installing Windows 7 please help

Hi my problem in a nutshell is as follows

My computer was running slow for ages it is a very old computer so I assumed it needed a fresh install of Windows 7 to de- clutter things upon completion I could tell immediately that things had not improved if anything they had gotten worse.

Internet explorer took forever to load and windows updates were not moving at all just searching for hours.

I have just noticed now that cpu usage is at 100% in task manager and it is using 1.08Gb of ram out of a total of 2GB

I have done a virus scan with Norton as well as malware bytes and nothing has shown up?

I have tried using two separate hard drives that has not worked either

Please if you now anything that will fix this problem I would be very grateful as I cannot afford a new computer at the moment and I am going to need it on Monday for work

Sorry for the long post

Thank you

Mathew

Ok mate now I think you should run these for starters as it seems something has taken over your machine

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 (insafe mode is a wise way to go)

then these

http://www.superantispyware.com/

https://www.malwarebytes.org/lp/sem/5/?gclid=CJTmq6iGpscCFYqCvQodbfMN1A(free version and untick the trial option when it comesup

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

ADW download from bleeping computerdelete any rubbish found with the malware scans

(Anyone running Kasperskyinternet security will find it rants about ADW - ignore it or disable Kasperskywhile running ADW)

If these do not come up with anything then there are other scans we can run.

These are symptoms I'm having on a relative's Acer One I've just clean installed 7 32-bit Starter on. The updates problem could be down to the Windows Update Agent automatically updating to 7.6.7600.320 (notice the 7600 pre-dates Service Pack 1 so this could be an indicator). The System Upgrade Readiness Tool is apparently supposed to fix this but so far I've had no joy.

It's worth trying that fix for updates first then tackling the slow IE loading time after all other updates are installed.

Personally I'm trying to upgrade the One to W10 but that's stuck at finding updates too prior to even installing, so I may reinstall 7 again and change the Update settings to see if I can block the Update Agent upgrade so I can actually install Updates. This is another possible fix you may want to try.

Mate unfortunately it looks like the old computer may need a makeover if not replacement. Now I can I ask if you thoroughly cleaned that drive of all XP stuff after saving data - a simple clean might have looked good but may have left remnants behind ad if the 7 install didn't go over it all maybe it has stuff that maybe messing with the install.

What about a new drive and if I remember you only have 2GB of RAM on board perhaps 4GB might make things a little better by easing the load on the CPU - I am just trying to think sideways here.
