Stubborn restart - when does it occur?

    Hi,

We have two computers here that are really stubborn. That is, both users turn off their computer just before they leave from office like 4 PM or whatever. Then when they come back here, the computers are on. We have seen that the computers are really, seriously turned off. We have even checked the computers quite a bit after they were turned off and I can swear they are off. We have checked several BIOS options if there would be some "boot up automatically on"-options and they are all turned off.

Now the question to here: I would love to know when the automatic boot up occurs, if there would be some pattern. The computer obviously does not log in to Windows, just to the normal "user select input password"-login screen. Is there anywhere in the log / does anyone know an external program that would keep track of the booting times without anyone logging in to Windows?

edit. I found that I get the last boot time from "net statistics workstation", but is there a log anywhere?

Ok best ask the IT people at your place and if it is only the two of you working there (owners) then I would suggest after a proper shut down - then switching off the power at the back of the machine or the wall socket.

A nuisance I now but at least a temporary method until we can find and answer - that is if you have admin rights to these machines.
