    Out of Memory Error with App


    I am using a high-end file recovery application. Long story short is that I had a RAID failure and after buying and trying numerous applications, I finally found one that can help. I scanned for weeks. It finally finished. I recovered some files. Saved the state. Did some other misc things that should not matter for the topic of this post. I then returned to open the saved state files and resume restoring. The file list was empty! The software has a separate app called "File List Viewer". So, I tried to open just the file list part in that. I got an Out of memory error. I have 10 GB free physical memory, and I tried hard setting the paging file size to as large as it would let me on the drive I have the most space available (only to get past this...I would have disabled it from this drive afterward because it is a slow drive). I still get the out of memory error. Of course, I tried the basics like shutting down as many things as possible to free resources. Is there anything else I can do on this side to try to get the file list loaded? I have already emailed the company that makes the software. I'm not sure if they will want to customize the software to help me, though. Any way I can get around it? Thanks!

    I should mention that before it finished scanning, I did save and reload the state files a few times successfully.
