Computer wakes up every 20 minutes

Every 20 minutes my computer wakes up from sleep.
Thanks to another thread, I went to the event viewer and looked for the wake source.

The system has resumed from sleep.

Wake Time: ‎2015‎-‎12‎-‎27T21:31:05.275044400Z

Wake Source: Timer - svchost.exe

Was repeated every 20 minutes after it fell asleep, not sure where to go from here.

And ? What did you find out in Event Viewer ???

Go into Device Manager and disable any wake from sleep devices, such as wake on lan etc

And check the Bios, although the Bios shouldn`t be causing it.

There is some program or piece of hardware causing the problem, (as noted by svchost.exe) something as simple as windows update or a virus program set to run a scan at certain time everyday, or in your case every 20 minutes. (strange)

Very simple to figure out.

My guess would be Macafee, phoning home to check for updates.
(it usually comes as standard with Dell's)
