    CPU usage at 25-50%.

All of a sudden, my CPU usage seems to stay at a minimum of 25%. Resource monitor shows svchost.exe (netcvs) taking up 25% of CPU. Might I have a virus. I noticed this problem occur a short while after I gave the admin password for Foxit PDF reader when it asked for changing file permissions. Could Foxit be carrying some virus or am I missing something here?

Not sure about the virus stuff but svchost has been a popular problem for many
    Could be a rootkit ?
Have you used Malwarebytes and activated scan for rootkits ?

    Solved

Thnx for the quick reply ThrashZone. The problem seems to have mysteriously vanished. I was probably just getting a little paranoid. My guess is that it was some Windows Update service eating CPU cycles.
