if there was a film there its long gone now...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAL-T9u3bmc
At 1:15 of this clip it looks like there is film covering the compound. Or maybe not.
uh ohh... lol i can't remember if i removed it or not. the compound spread and stuck to the cpu as if ther was no film so i guess i did and just didn't realize it.
ne ways turns out skunksmash was right. the mount wasn't secure. those plastic secure pins suck! i broke one just now trying to get it in there. i wiggled the mount and its pretty secure but damn one of the pins broke off into... getting teh mount of later is going to be a BIT*H!
i'm now idling at around 45-47C. i'm happy with this, but crysis still crashes sometimes. at the boss fight after i unload a few rocket launchers on him while he's up in the air. i think i skimmed a thread about taht issue. Thats where i'm off too next!
Thanks you so much everyone. if u guys still think 45 is a little i'm open to suggestions.
i have no stress testers. i downloaded 3d vantage but then i saw that its a trail and not free so i said screw that. i'm monitorying system temps with speedfan. it runs in the background while i play and i haven't experienced any problems with so that i know of.
while playing crysis or actually watching youtube and downloading files temps goes up to 50C easily and speedfan displays flames next to it
try this:
Download - OCCT Website english
it will make a graph of your temps over a 60 minute period
OCCT is good, but i prefer ''Orthos'' its much more ''user friendly''
just run one of these apps with all fans @ 100% (the AC7 PRO is a PWM fan & can be controlled using speedfan) & keep an eye on speedfan while the tests running, if you get a system crash while using these, or the temp starts getting dangerously high we'll have to take a look at your case management.
:)
If you broke one of the 4 heatsink mounting pins, you better replace it. They can be had from online sources. A PC normally idles in the 30s.
Post #2 this thread thought so, gald you found it. Prime 95 is also a good stress tester. Fabe |MG| Prime95 25.11 Download
