norton 360 uninstall | Norton Community
I uninstalled McAfee because it had the oldest date in add/remove. I then attempted to run a scan with Norton and it wasn't even activated or the subscription ran out. I removed it and installed MSE.
I'll continue to look at it on Monday. I couldn't work on it as much as I wanted to.
I do question some of the things the IT guy does. If somebody has an issue with a computer, he seems to replace it rather than fix the issue. The replacement computers are marginally better than what it's replacing.
But it's not my job and he does know more than me but I'm learning. Hope to get my A+ this year.
The computer is quicker and the user noticed a difference.
I ran disk cleanup again and it completed with no errors. Also made sure Windows was up to date.
Update: The computer has been working very well and will sometimes act slow at the end of the day. There are still some items in msconfig that I need to remove (they say unknown next to them). I rechecked them for a normal start, uninstalled the associated program and they are still listed in msconfig.
I'm thinking about using CCleaner to remove them.
Hi,
Yep ccleaner can remove what ever says unknown but you uninstalled the program
I forgot how I don't use ccleaner.
CCleaner also removed a bunch of "junk" files. The computer no longer slows down and the user is really happy with it. Not bad for $20 (memory) and some free utilities.
