    2. Still see indexing on drive checked.....should I uncheck that too as in option 2.
I don't think that setting matters if indexing is disabled.
You can uncheck it if you prefer.

Would the automatic daily check for updates be stopped too, and check for MS updates has to be done manually, after disabling indexing?
No, automatic daily check for updates still runs if indexing is disabled.

    Index - Enable or Disable

Hi @DavidE, hope you are good.

I have a question to which you replied earlier.

When indexing is unchecked from the C active drive, should/can it be unchecked from System reserved partition too?

    Thanks.

    Hi @DavidE,

I unchecked indexing, on both SR, and C active partition, using option #2.

On reboot I see Search service running.

Do I need to turn that from Manual to Disabled.. As in option #1?

If kept on stopped and Manual, it starts to run on reboot.

Any other features relating to indexing, that need to be unchecked?

Performed it on a clean install of W7 only, after having taken the 1st full backup, as recommended by @ThrashZone.

    Hoping to hear from you.

    Thanks.

Yes, set the Windows Search service to disabled.
That's the only setting i know that you need to do.
