Windows 7 update, stuck on startup.

So, I got a clean Windows 7 computer. Then, I used the update thing, so thing are up to date. I downloaded and installed it, then it told me to restart the computer. I did, and now it just stays at the "Getting ready to configure Windows, don't turn off your computer." more than an hour now. That might not be the exact sentence, as the language is different.

So, what should I do?

WOW I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT

When I reboot the computer, it just goes back to the same update screen.

Hit f8 at boot and choose to restore previous settings that worked, or similar.

Did that, and it's still stuck at the startup screen saying getting ready to configure/update windows, or something like that.

Then go back to a restore point, method 2.

Tried restoring from every possible spot, but it gives a (0x8000ffff) error.

I'm sick of Windows 7. Seriously.

I suppose I'll format it again. Another question. Is there a way to update Windows 7 without using that update program?

Boot to safe mode and uninstall the patches you did with WU. Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - Installed Updates

If that doesn't work -

Then you'll need a repair install.
