RC High CPU Usage - Task Manager or Kaspersky?

Hi all,

I hope someone can help with this. I've been running Win 7 RC on my P4 machine for a while now but it has been running very slow for the last few weeks.

CPU usage is nearly always 80% plus!!! When I open Task Manager and the Resource Monitor they tell me that Taskmgr is consuming the most CPU time. How can this be? When Task Manager is closed, the CPU usage is still high.

The only thing I can think of is whether upgrading to Kaspersky 2010 from 2009 might be causing the issue.

Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks,

Kev

Kev Hi and welcome

Easy way to find out. Boot into safe (F8) mode. If it was task manager which I doubt it will still be there. If not probably Antivirus, indexing or something else try it
