Agreed, the Win7 installer is nearly driver complete yet many transitioning from XP think they need to import drivers like chipset as before. This is unnecessary.
MS funded the WHQL partnership with all manufacturers which developed Win7 drivers, so they have them first. What isn't in the installer will come in quickly from Windows Updates.
Only exotic drivers need to be provided, and I would have my LAN just in case. Otherwise it starts up to the internet and usually has any newer drivers by the time you do Updates. If you keep ethernet plugged during install it will begin updating while installing.
Consider a formatted clean install if you replaced a bunch of the installer's drivers, or sys restore back before then and start over.
