Power Plan resets back

I'd like to ask for help since I don’t know how to fix this.

I had a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium on my Laptop 1 week ago, and I never had trouble with the Power Options on my previous Windows Vista Home Premium.

Whenever I put the display brightness of Balanced on 75% (plugged in) it always reverts back to 25% whenever I restart my laptop.

Here's a screenshot before the restart:

Here’s a screenshot after the restart:

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.

I hope there is a solution for this,

Thanks in advance!

Are you 32bit or 64?

32 Bit, even though my hardware is capable of 64 Bit, but I don't think that's problem.

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc

Go to help section. Type in power settings, soluions to common power trobles then try the power trouble shooter. It probably will not work, but I have found the best answer is often the most obvious.

Thanks in advance.

Help and support--- type power settings--- solutions to common power problems--- then open power trouble shooter. Thats the best I can do, but its precise.

Oh, you meant inside Windows 7, I thought you meant somewhere on this forums, and nope. that didn't work at all. Thanks anyway though.

Isn't it possible to fix it with the register or something?

Hello Carmine,

You might see if doing OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to reset all power plans back to default may be able to reset it for you so that it wil stop this for you.

Power Plan - Restore Default Settings

You might also see if running a sfc /scannow command may help as well.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Unfortunately, None of the above stated solutions did work, I'm currently preforming a clean install and hoping that'll solve the problems I'm having with my Windows 7, But I think I'll just go back to Vista.

Thanks anyway. I wish I could + Rep but I cannot, because I + Repped you earlier.
