    help me with laptop stats


    hello. just wanted to know if this laptop is would and would run windows 7 smoothly, and what to choose. 32 bit or 64 bit. so i have listed the stats

    processor, intel R pentium dual cpu t2390 1.86ghz
    4 gb ram ddr2
    nvidia geforce 8600m 256 mb, can have up to 1500

    is this good for windows 7. and some other thing. pls answer me if my cpu is 2 cores or 1. i mean does dual cpu mean i have 2x 1.86ghz??? and was is my accurate speed?

    As you have 4 GB of ram i would stick to 32 bit version, only need 64bit if you go above 4GB

    Follow the instructions of the previous poster. Go to the Microsoft site and get the upgrade advisor. It is my opinion that you will be better off with the 32 bit. Although there are several benefits of 64 over 32 the primary benefit is ability to use additional memory, you do not have that need. You will be getting two discs with your win7 package. You can always install the 64 later on if you upgrade or computer, or if your needs change, etc.

    I would install 64-Bit as you're futureproof. And 32-bit will only use 3.5GB of RAM, 64-bit can and probably will use the full 4GB more efficiently.
