    Temp File FXSAPIDebugLogFile

    Hi all,

I have recently Upgraded my Machine from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
Now when i want to delete Temp Files, there is one File by name
"FXSAPIDebugLogFile". This file is not getting deleted and even whenever i want
to remove my external hard disk with safe remove option, systems gives me an
error message that “Windows can’t stop your ‘Generic Volume’ device because it
is in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and
    try again later.”

Can some one please guide me how to over come this issue.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ravi Patil

Just wait. It will be able to be deleted after a short period of time. Right now it is being used.

    Hi;

Sadly this is not the case. I've struggled with this stupid file for years now (see below). I'm about to give up and install Unlocker (UNLOCKER 1.9.1 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB) to kill it off , but I'd like to know more about the file first.

    Have a look at this:

    C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Temp>dir
Volume in drive C is WIN7
    Volume Serial Number is 38E3-D77A

    Directory of C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Temp

    09/18/2011 12:17 PM <DIR> .
    09/18/2011 12:17 PM <DIR> ..
    11/23/2009 08:17 PM 0 FXSAPIDebugLogFile.txt
    09/18/2011 11:47 AM 16,384 ~DF69A5CE2E051BB2D8.TMP
    2 File(s) 16,384 bytes
    2 Dir(s) 160,425,656,320 bytes free

    C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Temp>del FXSAPIDebugLogFile.txt
    C:\Users\steve\AppData\Local\Temp\FXSAPIDebugLogFile.txt
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I've tried to use Process Explorer to figure out the process using it, but no dice.

    Any insight greatly appreciated!

    Steve

I have that file, too. Size: zero bytes. So what? Leave it alone.

Do some work. Have some fun. Let Windows do its own thing.

The file is generated by the Print services when a fax device or printer does certain things. You could disable fax and print services from the Windows Features, or you could simply leave it alone and still be able to use things like your printers . Ultimately, this file is hidden in your temporary appdata directory for a reason, but this is your call.
