Out of curiosity, why 5GB RAM? What RAM modules are you running...? If you have something like two 2GB and a 1GB, you might possibly see more performance from taking out the 1GB and running the two 2GB modules in dual channel.

The other thing is the OS, do you have a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) version if Windows? If you have the 32-bit, your programs won't be able to use more than about 3GB anyway...

That's a pretty awesome score there! Not many DDR2 setups break the 10k MB/s barrier. Mine runs at about 8600MB/s with a small overclock.... What make / model of RAM you running there?

Windows 7 Professional x64 6.1 Build 7600

Hi, I have just a few questions to ask. I picked up a Dell XPS 430 barebones the other day and was able to move my cpu and everything over just fine. The only thing I couldn't move over was my memory since my old machine was DDR2 and this one is DDR3. Just so I could get it up and running and make sure everything works ok I got some cheapo DDR3 1333mhz ram of craigslist. When I run the test my speeds are only averaging around 6870MB/s. Isn't that fairly slow for DDR3? I had one test go just above 10000MB/s but that was it. I know it's possible that the ram is just cheap and not very fast, but still should it be that slow? My DDR2 800Mhz wasn't that far behind it.
