well i got my new g.skill CL9 1600 sticks (2x4) running at 1800fsb and 1687 mem 9/9/9/24 but at 1T atm getting around 7800mb/s, my 1800mhz super talent 8/8/8/24 2T were getting around 8700mb/s @ 2000mhz with 8/7/6/18 2T so im pretty pleased i now have 8gb ram with hardly any loss even though they were the cheapest sticks i could get at 1600mhz. that is on the xfx 790i ultra, now i just gotta wait for my evga 790i digigtal pwm to come back from RMA to see what the difference is between the 790i and the ultra and then i can post some comparisons. should be interesting as some sites claim the ultra has a slightly higher mem bandwidth.

but with 8gb ram i still have 7.5 WEI score. no improvement there.

im just happy to not have a page file anymore (its my first time!) lmao.

im thinking i might use the ultra and build a htpc, all i need is a case with a psu and a gpu, i got the e8400, 4gb supertalent, zalman 9700 cooler and the crapative xfi platinum all lying around. mind you i have 3 9800gx2's i wonder if i can get the spare one working again, or maybe split the cards in half and see if that works with just the single card with the pci-e connector?

Yeah it is...sorry i suppose i should fill out my system specs...i been slacking. I built it just to kinda see if i could do it, moral of the story is I should have done a bit more research on the hardware...Asus M3N78-Pro motherboard doesn't allow me to set my timings, it has a lot of options but for some reason thats the one thing they won't unlock in the bios. This is my first serious system so I'm not an expert but I think that has some to do with holding me back from going over 3.1 with my phenom, its a 9950 BE.

Mushkin Em Series DDR2 4 4 4 12 1T 8 GB WEI 7.3. Looking through this thread I see names like Crucial,Kingston,G-skill,Corsair,Patriot. I have used Crucial memory before and found it to work excellent. I am sure that all the other brands there users will vouch for there performance. But I like Mushkin. Lifetime warranty great preformace and a group of people who really stand behind there product.

While you can run without a pagefile and 8GB, it's still better to have one.

I have the newest available bios, Asus at one point had said that it was going to be available and even sent a beta one out for people testing the board, but lately they have sent reply's to people who have asked stating that it isn't going to be offered because the benefits wouldn't be enough to be noticed or something along those lines...strange if you ask me...but i'm still keeping my fingers crossed..lol
