What's your memory assessment speed?

On the plus side mate, you are taking far less volts to get there if I recall. What volts are you using?

I was in doubt that my readings were correct, so I got out my voltage meter and tested it, it was reading 11.75v so i think I am OK, not sure why the computer is reading voltages and temps wrong though.

its not too bad voltage, i got alot of vdroop and as far as i know there is no mod fix (i haven't checked for a few months)

mind you if i play around with the gtl ref lane volts i could prob get it lower but its too painful and i would have to setup a separate drive as there is alot of lockups in the process.

I'd definitely trust the volt meter over software tools. Are you having the same reporting errors in Vista? (or in Seven if you're currently reading from Vista?)

It's still under the 1.3625 'safe' limit and the temps are okay, so it's not a huge deal. Plus my VID is 1.25000.

My board doesn't allow much GTL fine tuning, and like yourself it's too painful trying to adjust what I can

I'm just happy that Sevens currently a lot more stable than it has been. Even the sound card and it's b@stard driver has been behaving. I've actually come back to Seven full time for the time being :)

Yes it still shows the same voltage in Vista and it was still showing that voltage with my previous Asus P5k motherboard so maybe it has 2 12v Rails, I didn't test the supply to the motherboard so that may be the case.

im pretty sure the max recommended vcore was 1.3750, but your still under anyway so dont worry. sometimes my vdroop is pretty bad especially when i get into higher volts, then i have to compensate for when its under load and make sure the idle isnt too high.

GTL's are an art of their own, they can also be an ass of their own, either way im not very good GTL's.

what version of w7 have you found to be more stable for you? have you tried 7057 yet?

edit: no your right about the vcore! i just looked at intels intel on intel processors!

GTLS are indeed an art of their own. A time consuming art

TBH, I've had issues with each build. I had a very rocky start with 7048, but after re-clocking and re-stressing it's been pretty good so far. I've only had one BSOD in a week. Compared to 2-5 BSOD's a day.... it's a victory :)

I've found that Seven is a whole lot more sensitive to slightly unstable O/C's than Vista.

I'm giving 7057 a miss and will just wait for the RC now.

thats 1 thing i dont get, a different o/s sometimes needs to recheck your overclocks?

i think i have only ever had 1 bsod with 7000, and it was my sound driver (wow what a surprise) but havnt seen it again. farcry2 is the only game i have troubles with but its only because of the trainer program i run with it that causes the crashes occasionally. i do get frustrated with it but its so addictive.

i dont know if i sould upgrade to 7057 or just wait. did you see much of a diff between 7000 and 7048? cos i would prob do the same as you, upgrade once then just wait, seeing as it wieghs in over 3gb a pop. (crappy bandwidth d/l)
