I have another post somewhere detailing how I have it on an old HP. 1.5 ghz processor. 133 mhz ram at 1.5 gigs. 40 gigs of space. GeForce3 showing as just a Standard VGA board. And it's my server machine in the house. I'll write up something in detail on it later maybe.
My secondary machine:
I still can't believe that MS has made a product in the year 2009 now, that runs so well on a year 2000-2001 machine.
i'm going to try to install this on an old P4 northwood when i get home lol
This is my wei from Sony p4 2.8 mgs with 1gig mem. and a 9200 Radeon. no aero and no support from ati. running 7077 on it. runs better than xp thats on the same drive.

Hi, I have a Dell Latitude X300.
Processor Intel Pentium M 1.2 GHz
Chipset type Intel 855PM
Installed RAM 640.0 MB / 1.125 GB (max) DDR266/PC2100
It has Windows XP installed at the moment.
Do you think Windows 7 would work on that one ?
Cov, the only way to know for sure is to try to install and find out.
But I think it would be alright.
As far as Aero goes in genereal, I'm not even sure if it's supposed to be able , but on my second box I posted about above...it only has an nVidia 6200 A-LE and it works. Windows looks, acts and responds exactly as my main machine with a HIS HD3850 IceQ Turbo. Like when I do windows key + tab, the glass transparency etc...it's all there too.
I've got an HP ze4325us. Windows 7 installs and runs great (1 GB RAM, Athlon 2000+ processor), but the display comes up in device manager with a yellow exclamation and details report (device cannot find resources to start). Tried ATI drivers (it's a very old Radeon chip, I think) and while the drivers do install, I still can't get it to "start". So, the result is 7 runs very well, but the display is stuck at 640x480 and 8 bit color (which is *really* awful to look at!).
Any ideas as to how to get the display working on this old laptop? It works fine in XP, but the problem is there in both Vista and 7 (but Vista would barely run at all, whereas 7 is pretty good!)
