    FPS drops in game.

    Hey!

I recently installed Windows 7 x64 Build 7057 and I'm now having problems with the fps in games, such as WoW. I really want your opinion about this, since I'm used to 70fps on WoW when running Windows xp.

Since I'm new to Windows 7, I installed the new ATI Radeon Catalyst (9.3). And I'm now wondering if there's a problem with the drivers or if 40-55fps on WoW is common in Windows 7?

Something that I've noticed on my CPU Meter gadget, is that the usage of CPU power is kinda high, even when doing fairly easy tasks. So do you guys think that may be the problem?

So what I want to know is if there's anyone else out there who's been having fps problems with WoW or pretty much games in general?

And yeah, now that I think about it, I had some problems fetching drivers for my motherboard. Can that be one possible reason for the draining of CPU power?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Just check my public profile here on the forums for my system specs, if needed.

Check task manager to see what is utilizing your CPU. If you have a process using a lot of cycles, it could be one explanation why you getting lower framerate.

You should definitely install your chipset drivers:

(Double check this is the right one -D2175-Axx)

Downloads - Support - Fujitsu Siemens Computers

Install them using Compatibility mode if need be.

Thanks alot for the link and so on. I'm currently swaying between 80-160 fps in WoW at the moment. :) And the cpu usage is around 30-70% while playing the game. I think I can live with that.

    Thanks! :)

It's a bit rougher when running around in the big cities in wow, but I expect nothing less. I guess 25-ish fps in Stormwind is a bit low. But I'll keep looking for more drivers for the motherboard.

i didn't realise WoW took that much to run, i thought it was a game like runescape or something, never tried it before.
