You have a single core atom processor in that computer, it will never be a power house. The "netbooks" are meant for only web browsing and some lite document processing. If you need something faster sell it and buy a real laptop. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Black_Box (homebuilt) OS windows 7 RTM x64 CPU Phenom II 965 Quad Core 3.4Ghz Motherboard Asus M4A79T Deluxe Memory Mushkin Blackline 8GB (4x2gb) Graphics Card XFX Radeon 5970 Black Edition Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2408WPF-main Dell E248WFP-secondary Screen Resolution 1920x1200-main 1920x1200-secondary Keyboard Logitech MX 5500 wireless keyboard Mouse Razor Copperhead PSU XFX 850w Black Edition (Modular) Case Mountian Mods H2go Cooling CoolITSystems ECO A.L.C. As far as an AV, Microsoft Security Essentials is free and has a pretty small footprint. Maybe worth a try | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Vostro 1000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86 CPU AMD Sempron 3600+ Graphics Card ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 Monitor(s) Displays Generic PnP Monitor Screen Resolution 1200 x 800 Mouse Logitech V320 Cordless Optical Mouse Hard Drives WD Scorpio Blue 500 GB (WD5000BEVT) |

Chop the msconfig startup list from any HP bloatware. Honestly, netbooks are pointless. Weak, small and too limited. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s |

if you are using the laptop via the mains, you can set it to run at High Performance in the Power Options, via the Control Panel
it may be set to Balanced Performance to save battery power.. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number benchtec, built to personal specs OS 64-Bit Windows7 Ult-SP1 CPU i7-965 Extreme Edition (8 Cores) at 3.3GHz (no OC) Motherboard BloodRage QuantumForce X58 (Socket1366) Memory 6G Corsair Dominator DDR3 - tripled Graphics Card 2xMSI AMD6870's in crossfire Sound Card Sonar(SB)X-Fi onboard Monitor(s) Displays SyncMaster P2050 20" Screen Resolution 1600x900 (widescreen) Keyboard Logitech G19 (wired) Mouse Logitech G9 Laser (wired) PSU 1000w Corsair Case ANTEC 900/2 all blue lights, etc.. You probably wont notice anything, it may suck off 30 minutes to an hour off your cap 6 hour battery life... but it woudl be an improvement.
There isnt much you can do with a netbook, as stated above, it was created solely for Lite browsing/Processing. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Premium (OEM) CPU AMD Phenom x4 955 BE @ 3.2GHz Motherboard ASUS Crosshair III Memory 8gigs (4x2gb) Mushkin DDR3 Graphics Card EVGA GeForce 260 GTX 216 core 896mb Sound Card SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro Monitor(s) Displays 26.5" Samsung ToC, 22" Samsung 226BW Screen Resolution 1920x1200 & 1680x1050 Keyboard Razer Tarantula Mouse Razer Imperator w/ Razer Goliathus Precision Mat PSU Thermaltake ToughPower 750w Case CoolerMaster Scout CMStorm Black Edition Cooling 2x140mm Intake/Exhaust, 1x120mm Exhaust, 2x120mm Side Intake Hard Drives 2x WD Caviar Black AAKS 500gigs (RAID 0)
