Windows 7: Task Scheduler problem

Task Scheduler problem

Getting error messages when trying to use Task Scheduler to run SyncToy.

The error message on starting Task Scheduler is: "Task BackgroundConfigSurveyor: The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with."

If I continue to set up a task (which it lets me do), I get the same error on clicking finish. The new task is not visible in the task list. If I try again, the program says that a task with the same name already exists.

Any clues as to what's going on - and how I might be able to solve it?
