essenbe Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 X64/ linux in VM 7,257 posts NW Florida	Try holding the windows key down (the one with the flag on it) and press the 'R' key. type msconfig, provide admin approval and click the startup tab. Uncheck everything not needed for startup. My desktop has everything unchecked except windows OS and anti virus.
