Win 7 Pro 64 - Resource Monitor not working Hey All,
I have been having intermittent issues where the Resource Monitor is not displaying/updating any graphs or statistics all the graphs are empty.
Currently I cannot get it work at all, even after a cold start.
I have done a few background tweaks and was wondering if there is a service that associated with the resource monitor that I may have disabled by mistake.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

There are so many services, that you would need to go through them yourself, for I'm not certain which if any might be responsible for the problem: Windows 7 Service Configurations by Black Viper | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY OS W7x64 Pro, SuSe 12.1/** W7 x64 Pro, XP MCE CPU Phenom II 1090T w/Noctua NH-D14 /**4400+ X2 w/CM Hyper TX 3 Motherboard ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4/**A8N-SLI Memory 2 x 2GB Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA/**4x1GB Corsair VS Graphics Card EVGA GTX460 SC/**EVGA 8800GTS Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X/**Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays Acer X233H, Dell E152FPc /**LG M237-WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 & 1024x768/**1980x1080 Keyboard Logitech Media USB/**Saitek Eclipse Mouse Cordless Trackman Wheel/**Ditto PSU CM RS600 w/ APC BX1000G/**Antec 500 TP w/ APC BX1000 Case HAF922/**Antec 1040IIB Cooling 3x200mm, 1x140 and 1x120mm/**5x80mm fans Hard Drives WDC 2TB, 1.5TB, 1TB, 500GB,Seagate 500GB , Maxtor 80GB /**500GB Seagate & WDC 1TB Black Internet Speed 3.3Mbps Other Info SB 560 5.1 w/ Sennheiser RS140/**Creative T20 speakers, Dvico FusionHDTV7 Gold RT, Cisco E3000, HP 5510V AIO, Linksys E3000, Belkin F5U237 hub and **F5D8055 adapter

You could also type services in search. Look at the list, if there is anything disabled click on it you can find what it is dependant on and what depends upon it. Thanks for the responses guys.
I have changed all the service settings back to default and the problem still remains , so its not a service.
FWIW: I installed Process Explorer which is part of the Sysinternals Suite, and all is monitoring fine, so it is something specific to the Resmon.
I am currently making a back up image of the config , and I will do a fresh install and start from square one again and report back if/when I find the culprit. | My System Specs | | |

Before doing a fresh install, why not try running chkdsk /r and sfc /scannow in a command prompt. Quote: I am currently making a back up image of the config , and I will do a fresh install and start from square one again Semantics perhaps, but restoring from an image is not a fresh install, nor does it take you to square one. Any problem that exists at the time of the creation of the image will be restored along with everything else. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY OS W7x64 Pro, SuSe 12.1/** W7 x64 Pro, XP MCE CPU Phenom II 1090T w/Noctua NH-D14 /**4400+ X2 w/CM Hyper TX 3 Motherboard ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4/**A8N-SLI Memory 2 x 2GB Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA/**4x1GB Corsair VS Graphics Card EVGA GTX460 SC/**EVGA 8800GTS Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X/**Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays Acer X233H, Dell E152FPc /**LG M237-WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 & 1024x768/**1980x1080 Keyboard Logitech Media USB/**Saitek Eclipse Mouse Cordless Trackman Wheel/**Ditto PSU CM RS600 w/ APC BX1000G/**Antec 500 TP w/ APC BX1000 Case HAF922/**Antec 1040IIB Cooling 3x200mm, 1x140 and 1x120mm/**5x80mm fans Hard Drives WDC 2TB, 1.5TB, 1TB, 500GB,Seagate 500GB , Maxtor 80GB /**500GB Seagate & WDC 1TB Black Internet Speed 3.3Mbps Other Info SB 560 5.1 w/ Sennheiser RS140/**Creative T20 speakers, Dvico FusionHDTV7 Gold RT, Cisco E3000, HP 5510V AIO, Linksys E3000, Belkin F5U237 hub and **F5D8055 adapter

I understand re the image.
I am making a backup of the tweaked install , and installing a fresh vanilla install and checking the status of the RM at each step of my customisations/optimisations to see if I can pinpoint what caused the issue of RM not starting its monitoring routines automatically.
If it is something that I catch early on and is reversible I can recover the original image and make the appropriate adjustment.
I have a quite a bit of customisation on the original install including a new Visual Style , custom icon sets , classic start menu , as well as a stack of background settings, etc , so if I can resolve it early in the process it will save me a lot of time reconfiguring.
Currently I have a fresh install back on the system un tweaked and the RM is working , now to try and break it again.. :-)
I have no issue doing it from scratch again as this is a Master image for multiple deployment , so I would rather dot all the i's.
Cheers
