    CPU Idle usage

My CPU usage when it is in idle stay between 5% and 10% most part of the time...with some peaks of 20% some times(NOT really often at all)...

Is it normal? I have many svchost running background...I dont know if I can disable than...anyway...

My CPU is an core 2 duo E7500 at 2,9Ghz

One more question: I bought GTA IV and it drains very much from CPU(benchmark say 98% of CPU usage)...in msconfig, in the part of services, can I disable than all? One guy told me that I can and after doing to reboot...than the windows will only iniciate the services needed for the functioning of the PC...than when I start some task that need a service that was disabled this one will start again...is it true?

    Thx!

    Hi there.....

dont disable all services... , just leave them if your not sure about it, there's a few links on the web which will help you ascertain which services you require & those you dont

    here's one of them

in regards to CPU usage, head over to ''task manager'' via (ctrl/alt/delete), when the window opens select ''processes'' here you'll see what apps are currently running & the amount of CPU power is being used.

you could post a screenshot of the processes box here & we'll see if anything looks abnormal...:)

    GTA4 is a rescource hog....its that simple.

top end machine still struggle with this game, & its pretty poorly coded for the PC.

looking at your specs, as long as you can play with some degree of fluidity & your not getting 10-15fps (like a lot of ppl do), then i'd be happy
