So are social skills.

$50 plus the extra cost of a new motherboard due to switching sockets etc does not equate to a 'small cost' - particularly if there is no need to upgrade since it's working.

Mate, just because someones machine isn't up to your 'standards' , doesn't make them an automatic candidate for the tip.

Reason for using it

It was an old machine that was sitting in the closet. It used to be my HTPC and was in a nice looking Silverstone case made for that purpose. I happen to look on NewEgg and saw they still made AGP graphics cards. I thought they would have been long gone. The card was $69 after the $10 rebate.

I had been playing blu-ray DVD's using my Asus UL30VT-A1 laptop and a USB blu-ray reader. It wasn't the most convenient setup. I thought maybe the old P4 with the new graphics card could. It did, perfectly.

It's WEI is 4.2. That is after I OC'd it 10% to 3.51 GHz. The score was 3.9 at 3.2 GHz. The CPU's score was the lowest, so that was the system's WEI.

$50 cpu here hits 6.5 and the motherboard would be $80 with a perfect built in card for decoding Blu-Ray.
