all i can think of woul involve putting it into hybernate then copying the file from a command prompt or live cd to an alternate location. then booting again restarting for updates then put it into hybernate an loading up the live cd or command prompt again and replacing the current hybernation file with the one you copied previously. of course to make that easier a program could be written and you boot into that instead sort of like a hybernate session manager.
