Cool Tools: Bandwidth Conversion Calculator
Many of who have been in this game for a while like to measure our Internet connections speed from time to time.
Today I received my "free" updated modem from Charter via Fedex. It's a ubee (formerly ambit) U10C035 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. Wanting to see if there was any difference between DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0 on my connect; I searched for some speed tests other than the usual speedtest.net. I found many and ran them all I was amazed that many tools out there display their results in different bandwidth/bit rate/throughput measurements.
Then I found this: Bandwidth conversion calculator | web.forret.com
BTW: To anyone with Charter who gets this modem via the self install kit; the Charter registration process locks to your PCs MAC address... So if you have or get a router you will have to enable MAC address cloning to get your connect up and running.
...At least thats the way it works in So Cal with Charter.
