    Slow Transfer Speed hard drive


    i am trying to add some movies to my Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda ST31000520AS 1TB from my other hard drive but the Transfer speed is so slow it starts with 150mb and in 5 sec it will go down to 10mb it show it will take 1GB file for up to 20hours to copy what is going on i need a fix pls.

    Do you have the latest drivers for your chipset? Is hard disk DMA enabled?
    Windows falls back to PIO mode when DMA is not available (disabled) or too many errors occur (bad cable, bad controller, bad drive).
    Uninstall IDE ATA controller from device manager, reboot , then install the newest IDE controller from the motherboard manufacturer.
    I believe Seagate has good customer service so they can be also be contacted, if required.

    Try running a hard drive diagnostics with Seagate SeaTools: | Seagate

    If found faulty contact your retailer or Seagate for RMA.
