C drive icon...

    C drive icon...


    Im not sure what happened to my c drive icon it was the nice one with the small windows logo as seen here



    but now it appears as the other is there a fix to this???

    Hello Verean,

    Double check to see if the yellow TIP box at the top of the tutorial below may be the issues with a autorun.inf file. If not, then you can try Option One or Option Two to manually change the icon to the default icon using this path: C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll,-36

    Did you try both options in the tutorial?

    Before doing something like that, see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated when it was displayed properly may be able to fix it for you.

    I have restored it aswell but thanks for your help i will just reinstall windows.

    Sorry, but this really no reason to reinstall unless something is not working. My C icon is like yours - plain and simple. It never bothered me.

    I got it with Tuneup Utilities 2010 it worked perfect!!!
