    setting for 2 processors

I keep setting mine for 2 processors and almost every time I reboot it goes back to a single processor. How can I get it to stay to duel processor settings? My boot up is VERY VERY slow. Trying to speed it up.

What ever setting you are changing, I assume "Number of processors:" in "Advance [boot] options..." is what you are changing. Uncheck that setting (do the same for "Maximum memory:") and click OK. Then...never open Advance Options again.

    Hi Alpine
Excellent advice from logicearth. After you do what he suggests have a look at your programs that are in your start Up. Then see which ones you can disable to load at startup. Too many start up programs is usually the main cause of a slow Boot up.

You are probably confused with dual CORE vs dual processor. But yeah, basically follow the other advice here.

As an experienced system builder, I totally agree. NEVER go messing around with the boot options processor handling. The thread that shows people how to do this should be removed from Seven Forums. The OS utilizes all cores from a CPU without having to fiddle around with advanced system settings. Someone should notify an Admin about that thread. It needs to go.
