Speedboost effectiveness
How much of an actual performance boost does readyboost actually have? If anyone has any realtime benchmarks I'd like to see the data. Cheers.

logicearth gave a terse, but correct answer: Unless your system is just plain ram-starved, Ready Boost will do nothing at all for it.
Ready Boost was a fine idea...with little practical usage...
The only time I found it to be effective was on a laptop that only had 512mb RAM.
Without ready boost, the pagefile was absolutely hammered and brought the entire works to a crawl. With it enabled, there was a definite increase of system responsiveness.
However, going to 1GB and then 1.5GB on that machine, the difference with readyboost enabled was negligible.
However ready boost does have an impact on start up times if the service is disabled, regardless of whether it's used or not.
