increase speed in Firefox
hey, can you help me, how can I increase my speed in firefox, I've heard that this can be done, but I do not know how . also, how could I disable windows defender in order to save resources?

You can disable windows defender in control panel/security settings.
I don't use Vista anymore, but think that's right. :)
Not sure about Firefox its fast already.
You could get a web accelerator, or get the FasterFox extension. Google has a really good web accelerator, but I forget what it is. FasterFox is the best for FireFox.
That, or you could just get Google Chrome or Apple Safari.
There are some settings you can tweak:
1. in address bar type about:config and the hidden settings will appear
2. Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
3. Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
4. Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
5. right-click anywhere in the config page and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
6. restart firefox
