Intel P4 800mhz FSB on a 400/533 FSB Board

Tittle says it all i'm trying to run a 800mhz FSB processor on a motherboard that supports 400/533mhz FSb.

so my question is, will the processor run at full speed? will it work at all? XD

Thank you very much for any replies

I think it will - but to be honest, the best place would be to check the specs of the motherboards supported by the CPU you have at intel.com

If it does work, then the it will run at the fastest speed the motherboard can do i.e. 533MHz, so you won't get the full speed.

That was my gut feeling. Much like RAM. If the board only supports 667mhz, 800mhz will only run at 667mhz.
