    Random CPU Spikes

For the past week and a half or so I've been getting random CPU spikes at 100% which renders my computer unusable for 5-7 seconds.

I found the culprit in task manager and it appears as though it's Kaspersky. It's called avp.exe. When I right-click and open the folder to where that .exe is located it takes me to the Kaspersky folder.

Does anyone know what I should do? I uninstalled Malwarebytes, (free version), thinking this was the problem but it's not as I just had another spike.

Does anyone have any advice? This makes me feel sick inside.

It's possible Kapersky is having a bad reaction to another program. Or it could just be a corrupt file. Uninstall Kapersky and Reinstall.

Okay. I'll do that now. I will also use the removal tool.

I'm assuming that you're using a legit paid for version, if not just switch to a free software such as MSE.

Yes. But a non-legit version shouldn't really make any difference right?

Edit: I re-installed it and there's been no spikes. I don't know if it's truly fixed or if it just hasn't gotten around to spiking yet, haha.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'd give rep but it won't let me. Tells me I must spread more around before giving it to you again.

Ah, I understand. That makes sense.
