    PC Shutdown

    Hi,

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) PC with the latest updates & SP. I would like to know of a program (Native / 3rd party) which shuts down the PC if:

    1. No user has logged in and
    2. PC is idle for a certain amount of time

Please note that both the conditions above should be met together. I know there are such programs available (have them on my office workstations).

    Thanks!

The requirement that no user is logged in means it would have to be coded as a service. That cuts down quite a bit on freeware as it's more difficult to program and debug code written as a service(generally speaking.)

I searched around and found plenty of auto shutdown, but none mentioned anything about not being logged in.

You could try posting a custom request on this forum:

but please read the rules first.
Often it will be that readers will know of a freeware that already does it. Sometimes a coder will whip something together for free if it's not too difficult.

edit: skwire wrote one that may do the job for you called boot snooze. It has auto login. Don't know if it fits the bill. It's on this page:

When you have it in your office workstations, you can get the name of the program, or ask your administrator to give you the same. Once you have the name, you can search for it on internet.

If it is freeware, you can get it from your office.
