The question lacks context, but perhaps you are being told to consider a more powerful battery with a longer run time.

When your battery reaches a stage when it cannot hold a full charge you will get that error message. It is just giving you advance warning that the end of that baterry is near.

What makes you think it is in good shape?

Since you are getting the message. Your battery is not in a good shape.
So to fix it you will need a new battery.

Zigzag & LogicEarth - this is what I mean by context. SANDRA will use that specific language in its synopsis, even if the battery is fine.

By the message I assume the OP was talking about the error message (that is new in Windows 7) that warns the user when the battery is coming to the end of its life. That is what I assumed however.

How old is the battery? if it is only keeping a 10 minute charge it is time for a new one

A common mistake that rapidly kills new batteries - keeping the laptop plugged in all the time.

If you do keep it plugged in, remove the battery to preserve it.
